DiLeo Dunzo

And there we have it, the news that Tony DiLeo will not be the coach of the 76ers any longer, instead returning to his role as senior vice president and assistant general manager.

With that, I am relieved and happy. Tony seems like a nice enough guy, but he looked like an overmatched coach, especially in the playoffs. With names like Avery Johnson and Doug Collins floating around, I'm more than OK with DiLeo withdrawing his name.

The Sixers need an experienced coach who can instill some discipline, fundamentals and a true system, both offensively and defensively. I hope Eddie can find that coach, because righting this team will take a bit of work.

BallHype: hype it up!

  1. JVG? Eddie Jordan? It's a tough job, I'd think...not knowing who's going to be running the point until (at the earliest) July, dealing with Sammy complaining and asking for a trade, figuring out what to do with EB. There's a lot up in the air with this team, I wouldn't be surprised to see a regression next season (assuming Andre Miller doesn't come back, stagnation if he does).

  2. I agree completely. And if we could get JVG, I'd be effing thrilled. I love that guy.
