Jason Peters, Welcome

So Arkansas Fred just called me to let me know he heard the Eagles traded for Jason Peters. During the call, I logged onto ESPN.com and confirmed it: The Eagles did, in fact, trade their first round pick (28) and a fourth-rounder in this year's draft, along with an undisclosed pick in the 2010 draft.

I am insanely thrilled with this move. The Eagles absolutely needed a left tackle, and they went out and got the best one available. Peters is 27 years old, 6'4" and 340 lbs., and he developed into one of the better tackles in football the past couple of years. Seriously, I'm all sorts of pumped about this.

Now the Eagles can focus their attention on running back in the first round of the draft, or, dare I say, trade their first and a third for Anquan Boldin, thus not drafting in the first round yet again, and get a running back in the second round. Either way, I'd be fine with it. Nice to see the Eagles making moves in the right direction after a pretty awful start to the offseason.

BallHype: hype it up!

  1. You can thank me for that info as I informed Freddie. What a great move as long as Mr. Peters does not decide to slack after he gets his contract. Hopefully Andy can light a fire under his ass and have him play like an allpro all the time.

  2. Excellent work. You're closer to the north pole, so you get all this information quicker than us southerners.

  3. If we don't get Anquan I want the Birds to draft UNC's Nicks. He is big and will play great alongside Desean! BOOM!

  4. Too bad Nicks will probably gone by their second round pick, so that's out the window. But it would be sweet.
