Marvin the Martian

This story kind of makes you wonder if the Marvin Harrison in Philadelphia is the same as the one who plays for the Colts. Maybe one is from Mars.

The ESPN story, courtesy of The Big Lead, has some troubling tales of the Roman Catholic grad who has never left his childhood neighborhood in North Philadelphia. Read it.

It would be interesting to hear what his former quarterback at Syracuse and fellow NFLer with ties to Philadelphia, Donovan McNabb, had to say about Harrison. Probably a conversation we'll never get to hear.

BallHype: hype it up!

  1. Sounds like Marvin has a little temper. Funny that T.O. has never shot anything off but his mouth yet Marvin still won't get criticized even half as much. Just sayin'.

  2. I'm with you there. It's like this cover says. He never beat his wife or anything. Shows you how little we really know about these guys.

  3. i always said this guy was one of best receivers in the game. But he surely needs to talk to a shrink or 2 to do something about his borderline personality. Also it's ok to give back to where you came from if you want to it's your right to do so. but i wonder if in someway he thinks he is like a boss of the neighborhood, like a John Gotti of his area. which is not a good thing. Cause eventually someone will catch up to him and try to take him out.

  5. crazy shit. Marvin isn't exactly giving back either. He owns properties and a bar and carwash. It's not like he's renovating North Philly. His neck of the woods is somewhere you don't even wanna stop at a red light in.

  6. then from you say he's just buying stuff there to own it and make money on it, and not really give a shit about the neighborhood at all. this just adds to the question of what the hell is going on in this guys head.
